Derbyshire Volunteers

Originally formed by Derby Folk Festival patron and all round wonderful musician/person John Tams for a Tsunami Appeal Concert, the Derbyshire Volunteers are made up of the “who’s who” from the Derby and Derbyshire folk scene.

With up to 16 players on stage at any one time, the band perform concerts and ceilidhs for fun, and all to raise money for various charities, both local and national.

With string, melodeon, concertina, brass, woodwind and percussion sections, the band really know how to make a fantastic sound – and have a great time doing it!

Lucy was recruited into the ranks in 2011.
